Doing the small, local stuff too…

Edward Gildea in a sun hat, holding his scythe in a churchyard of long dry grass on a sunny day

This week Edward has braved the heat and been mowing the churchyard. Mowing with his scythe, as all mowing was originally done!

The wildflower count earlier in the year identified 48 different species of plant, including such gorgeous names as Smooth Hawk’s-beard, Pellitory-of-the-wall and Ivy-leaved Sowbread. There may well be more!

More wildflowers mean more insects and then more birds. Every contribution helps. Edward has also been keeping large saucers of water full for the birds and small mammals.

Teasels left standing as they look so good in late sunlight and frosts and are full of seeds for the birds in winter.

Let’s make hope normal again

We are a small local party, so every member and every pound counts.

Joining or donating helps us tell people in every town and village that there is a Green to vote for.

Join takes you to join.greenparty.org.uk, the national party’s own site.
